The Market has a New Location for 2012!

Thanks to the generosity of Carolyn Kirk and the Wells Fargo Bank team, the West Milford Farmers Market will be held this year in the Wells Fargo Bank Parking Lot on the corner of Union Valley and Marshall Hill Road. This allows for even greater visibility and a more central location. We look forward to many new visitors!

The WM Farmers Market is sponsored and operated by Sustainable West Milford and in its 4th year. As a mid-week market, you can find it open open every Wednesday from 3p-7p from June 13th October 31st. This year you can look forward to seeing some of your favorite vendors including Pie Eyed Bar Pies for pizza and Italian specialties, Overlook Farms for fresh fruits and veggies, Snoepwinkle Farms for eggs and grass fed meats, Pickelicious for pickles, olives and relishes, Hazelman Farms for herbs, plants and other perennials.

The market is designed to benefit the local economy, the people of West Milford and the environment. All products must be grown/made/created within 75 miles insuring that revenues stay with local businesses and farms. The market offers healthy, fresh and local products and produce where customers can ask questions of the people most in the know - the vendors that created the product in the first place.

Produce offered at our market is grown with a minimum of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and travels no more than 75 miles from farm to market. This dramatically reduces our collective carbon footprint to support the environment; better and healthier for the economy of West Milford, better and healthier for the people of West Milford, better and healthier for the environment as a whole. And it's a great place to meet up with friends, listen to live music, and learn about sustainable living!

Coming in 2012: This year look for more abundant produce offerings, fresh baked bread and pies, sustainable living demonstrations and information, our 'Buy Local' corner where local merchants can share what they have to offer to residents, and local artisans that make everything from pottery to hula hoops. With our new space, we have room for new vendors, merchants and artisans - come join us this year!

Dog Sitting at the Market!

While fuzzy friends cannot walk through the market due to Board of Health regulations, we are happy to offer dog sitting services while you shop. Doggie treats, fresh water and lots of love are available!

Vision of the West Milford Farmers Market

The West Milford Farmers Market will build a stronger and more sustainable West Milford by creating a ‘one-stop’ opportunity for local residents and businesses to conveniently obtain and sell high quality locally grown and crafted products in a welcoming, informative and entertaining setting.

The West Milford Farmers Market will seek to be creative and innovative, but will at all times be guided by the following core principles:

All products available at the market will be high quality and produced and/or crafted by the vendors themselves in order to maximize the economic, environmental and social benefit of the Market to the local community.
West Milford vendors will be prioritized for available vendor spaces as they become available, but vendors outside the municipal boundary within a 75 mile radius of the Town will be permitted in the interest of providing a diversity of foodstuffs and goods to local residents.
The Market will serve as a community social resource, by providing opportunities for enhanced social interaction through regular entertainment and educational programs; e.g., performances by local musicians, and free tabling space for local non-profit, non-partisan entities.
